Short version: we collect your email address, and your first name if you give it, so we can send you the swap guide and a weekly tip. If you take the Plastic Score Quiz and enter your email for your full report, we also save your quiz answers so we can send that report to you. We don't sell any of this or share it. If you say yes to analytics, we also see anonymized numbers on which pages are helpful. You can leave any time, and change the analytics choice whenever you want.
What we collect
Your email address, and your first name if you choose to give it. It's optional on every signup form we use.
If you take the Plastic Score Quiz and enter your email to get your full report, we also save your quiz stage, your score, and a link to your results so we can send your report and tailor it to swaps you haven't made yet.
Why we collect it
To send you the Free Plastic-Free Swap Guide, your plastic score quiz report, and one short swap tip a week. Your first name lets us personalize those emails, and your quiz answers let us focus the tips on swaps you haven't made yet. We're doing this because you asked us to (that's your consent, and it's our legal basis under the GDPR).
Who sees it
We don't sell your email or share it with anyone for their own use. It's stored with Brevo, the email service we use to send our emails. Brevo handles it on our behalf and only for that purpose. You can read Brevo's privacy policy for how they handle data.
Cookies, analytics and fonts
We use Google Analytics to see which pages are actually helpful. If you're visiting from the EU, UK, EEA, or Switzerland, nothing analytics-related loads until you say yes to a banner that appears on your first visit. Everywhere else, Google Analytics runs automatically, since it isn't required there, but you can turn it off just as easily. Either way, the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page lets you change your choice at any time, in either direction.
We figure out roughly where you're visiting from using Cloudflare, the network that hosts this site, not by asking any outside service to look up your IP address for us.
When it's running, Google Analytics sets a few cookies and collects things like which pages you viewed, roughly where you're visiting from, and what kind of device you're using. It doesn't tell us who you are, and Google Analytics 4 (what we use) doesn't store your full IP address. You can read Google's privacy policy for how they handle it.
When it's off, whether because you're in a region where we ask first and haven't said yes, or because you declined, no analytics cookies are set and nothing is sent to Google.
The page also loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers (and shares your IP address with them) when the page loads, regardless of your analytics choice. The signup form is provided by Brevo and loads some files from their servers too.
The Facebook group link is just a link. Facebook only hears from you if you click it.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe: use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send. It takes one click.
- Delete your data, or see what we have: email us at the address below and we'll take care of it.
- Your rights: if you're in the EU, UK or another place with data protection laws, you can also ask us to correct your data, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
